About Tag & Tissue
A gift-guide site for people shopping outside their own interests.

What this site is for
Almost every buying guide online is written for the enthusiast — someone who already knows the category, has opinions about the specifications, and is choosing between two options they have researched. Tag & Tissue is written for the other person: the one buying a gift for somebody else, in a category they know nothing about, with a budget in mind and a real worry about getting it wrong.
That is why the guides here are organized by recipient, occasion, budget and interest rather than by product category. It is how people actually arrive at the problem.
Who writes it
Tag & Tissue is written and edited by Brijon M., the hands-on owner behind MadGrey LLC. Every guide, every pick and every "skip it if" line on this site is his.
Being straightforward about what that does and does not mean: this is one person writing carefully about widely sold products, not a testing operation. There is no lab, no panel of experts, and no claim to have used every item recommended here. What there is instead is a published method, applied consistently, with the limits of each recommendation stated on the page.
How the guides are put together
Every page starts from a real question people are searching for, not from a product we would like to sell. From there the method is the same each time:
- Pick for a specific recipient at a specific price. Not "the best X" in the abstract — the best X for a teenager, or a coworker, or someone with twenty-five dollars.
- Choose products that are real and currently sold. Established models from companies that stand behind them, not whatever has the highest commission.
- Say who should skip each one. Every pick carries a limit. This is the part we consider most useful, because a recommendation with no downside is an advertisement.
- Never print a price. Prices move constantly and a stale number is worse than no number, so every buy link goes to the current price at the retailer instead.
The longer version, including what disqualifies a product, is in our editorial policy.
What we do not do
- We do not publish customer reviews, ratings or testimonials of any kind.
- We do not claim to have tested products we have not tested.
- We do not accept payment for placement or for a position in a ranking.
- We do not print prices, because they change.
- We do not invent credentials. See the bio above — it is deliberately short.
How the site pays for itself
Tag & Tissue is free to read and funded by affiliate commission: when you buy something through a link here, the retailer may pay us a percentage, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which products we pick or the order we rank them in. The full detail, including the Amazon Associates statement, is on the affiliate disclosure page.
The publisher
Tag & Tissue is published by MadGrey LLC.
